Do-Re-Mi
Let's start at the very beginning
A very good place to start
When you read you begin with - A - B - C
When you sing you begin with DO - RE - MI
DO - RE - MI , DO - RE - MI
The first three notes just happen to be DO - RE - MI
DO - RE - MI
DO - RE - MI - FA - SO - LA - TI...
(Oh let's see if I can make this easier)
DO - a deer, a female deer
RE - a drop of golden sun
MI - a name, I call myself
FA - a long long way to run
SO - a needle pulling thread
LA - a note to follow SO
TI - a drink with jam and bread
That will bring us back to do oh oh oh
Doe! - a deer, a female deer
Ray! - a drop of golden sun
Me! - a name I call myself
Far! - a long long way to run
So! - a needle pulling thread
La! - a note to follow SO
Tea - a drink with jam and bread
That would bring us back to do!
A deer, a female deer
RE, a drop of golden sun
MI, a name, I call myself
FA, a long long way to run
SO, a needle pulling thread
LA, a note to follow SO
TI, a drink with jam and bread
That would bring us back to do...
DO - RE - MI - FA - SO - LA - TI - DO! - SO - DO!
Autumn Vesper
Over wood and wold,
over flood and fell,
Over flashing lake and
gleaming dell,
The harvest moon looks
down.
The harvest moon looks
down.
And when heaven smiles
with love and light,
And earth looks back so
dazzling bright,
In such a scene, on
such a night,
Earth’s children should
not frown.
The harvest moon casts
a magical glow,
Enchanting all the
world below.
Bathed in a silvered
shine, behold nature’s face divine.
And when heaven smiles
with love and light,
And earth looks back so
dazzling bright,
In such a scene, on
such a night,
Earth’s children should
not frown,
Earth’s children should
not frown.
When the harvest moon
looks down,
Earth’s children should
not frown.
A Candle’s Light
A candle’s light
Is like no other light;
Its gleaming glow will
warm the coldest night.
When winter’s day is
fading into dark,
its gleaming flame will
warm my very heart.
Into the flame my eyes
do softly gaze;
It seems I cannot turn
my eyes away.
For when I’m in the
candle’s magic trance,
It draws me to its
quiet mystic dance.
We gather round to
share the candle’s light;
We talk and laugh into
the witer night.
Each face aglow,
reflecting golden beams,
preparing us for winter
dreams.
Outside the snow I clinging
to the trees,
The mighty pines are
bending to their knees.
The wind is singing
such a lonely tune,
And winter clouds now
hide the winter moon.
We gather ‘round to
share the candle’s light;
We talk and laugh into
the winter night
Each face aglow,
reflecting golden beams,
Preparing us for
peaceful winter dreams,
For peaceful winter dreams,
A candle’s light.
